Selecting Polymorphic SNPs with RGD’s SNPlotyper tools
By Simon • Jul 14th, 2008 • Category: Bioinformatics, Screencasts, ToolsI created a quick video tour of RGD’s SNPlotyper tool demonstrating how to use SNPlotyper to visualize and compare SNPs between sets of inbred rat strains. In this screencast I show how to configure the tool to select a region of chromosome 1 between 120Mb and 130Mb and then view SNP genotypes for F344 and LEW strains. I demonstrate how to identify the polymorphic SNPs between these strains and how to download the basic SNP data for use in Excel or similar tools.
The video is embedded above, Im trying a new video hosting site, Viddler.com to see how this works, any comments welcome!
