NCBO project abstract selected for talk at 3rd International BioCurator Meeting

By Simon • Feb 9th, 2009 • Category: News

It looks like I’ll get a chance to talk about our work with the National Center for Biomedical Ontology (NCBO) at the upcoming 3rd International BioCurator meeting in Berlin. Our abstract was selected as one of the talks in the ‘Standards and Controlled Vocabularies and Ontologies’ session. Here’s a link to the full schedule: http://projects.eml.org/sdbv/events/BiocurationMeeting/schedule.html

This should be a really interesting meeting - its the kick off for the International Society for BioCuration, there are some great Keynote speakers including Janet Thornton from EBI and Jim Ostell from NCBI. Phil Bourne (UCSD) rounds out the speaker list and he will be chatting about the changes in scholarly publication and its impact on BioCuration. I did an interview with Phil a little while back where we discussed some of these topics. It will be great to see how things have developed at SciVee and PLoS and where Phil sees all this leading.
