I’ve updated the RGD dashboard widget for the Mac. Nothing very significant has changed other than it now runs the most recent search tools on RGD rather than the older ones. I’m updating the download on the Apple site so it should be accessible from there too.

In the PG bioinformatics course we’ve been using Google Notebook to keep track of the sites we visit and what they offer. This is a link to the public version of this notebook. We will keep adding to this as we go so hopefully it will improve over time!

Came across this ID mapping tool at Uniprot today. Looks like a potentially handy thing for the ever-present problem of mapping from one ID space to another. Seems very sequence oriented and doesnt have RGD IDs as one of the identifier types that it works with…

I recently played around with installing BioMart with a view to loading our own data and using the Taverna workflow tool as a way of integrating this data with other web services. I’ve documented the procedures and steps I took in the hope that this might be of use to others.
